PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS
CLIENT REQUEST:
ECCO said, “We want to build a MRF facility with indoor all-season operation in Calgary Alberta for sorting of construction and demolition waste”.
IMC SOLUTION:
Following a design-build approach, IMC constructed a 50,000 sq ft facility utilizing a pre-engineered metal building with multiple interconnected levels consisting of structural slab-on-grade, suspended structural concrete slabs, raft slabs, concrete push walls, sorting bays, loading floors, conveyors, as well as staff support spaces. The entire building and the mechanical sorting system resulted in an integrated MRF with extensive electrical systems and programmed operation. This remains a unique materials recycling facility with specialty mechanical elements supplied from Three Rivers, Oregon, and Germany.
